Alex Rogers
Alex Rogers is a marine biologist and molecular ecologist with over 30 years of experience and has spent his life studying the deep ocean – and in particular the impact of human activity on the ecosystems of the oceans. He is currently the Deputy Director of Strategic Science Programmes and Partnerships at the National Oceanography Centre. Rogers has written several books, including The Deep – The Secret Life Of Our Oceans, and has published more than 141 peer-reviewed papers and 52 reports including work for the Deep-Sea Conservation Coalition, Greenpeace, WWF, IUCN the UN International Seabed Authority and the UN Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea.
