Stefan is a master of artistic photography exploring the relationship between people and the ocean through moments of scale, power, and stillness. Based in Portugal, his work is deeply rooted in the Atlantic, with a particular focus on the legendary waves of Nazaré, one of nature´s most remarkable environments. What began as a curiosity has become a long-term commitment to understanding one place through adventures of changing light, weather, and relentless energy. Guided by authenticity, curiosity, and artistic precision, his work is driven by a desire to create photographs that capture not only the scale of Nazaré, but also the emotion, atmosphere, and respect that this coastline inspires. Returning season after season Stefan´s photographs have been recognized internationally through publications, exhibitions, and broadcast productions, including HBO´s "100 Foot Wave", and back-to-back winner of the Mercedez-Benz Nazaré Winter Sessions Awards. He feels that his greatest reward is knowing that some of his strongest images have come from moments where curiosity outweighed fear, leaving him completely present and deeply connected to the ocean.
