Finalist Fine Art Photographer of the Year
Toni Bertran Regàs Spain
"I've always been fascinated by the resemblance between jellyfish and space rockets," says Bertran Regàs. "I was looking for a photograph that conveyed that connection: a rocket leaving Earth. To do this, I used a fisheye lens and took the photo just as the sun was rising. Snell's Window helped me create the Earth, the particles were the stars, and the sun luckily appeared behind it. I don't think I'll ever be as close to space as I was that day."

Toni is a Spanish underwater photographer based near Barcelona, with over 20 years of experience in audiovisuals as a director, camera operator, and editor. Though he began diving in 2010, it wasn’t until 2017 that he turned his creative focus to underwater photography. Despite his professional background in video, it was still photography that captured his imagination beneath the surface. Living close to the Mediterranean coast, Toni dives nearly every weekend, camera in hand, documenting the vibrant and ever-surprising marine life of Catalonia. His work reflects a deep appreciation for the sea and the beauty found in each dive.
