Surfline T-shirt
(Mens)
Ocean Photographer of the Year (OPY) has collaborated with sustainable surf brand, Rapanui, to connect two distinct artforms, photography and illustration, all while raising money for the ocean. Rapanui's in-house illustrators have picked a selection of some of OPY2023’s world-class photography to graphically interpret. Their mission: to turn each photograph into a wearable piece of art, without losing the essence of the original image.
This T-shirt is an interpretation of Tim Burgess's epic shot of surfers. Tim's photograph was Highly Commended in the Ocean Adventure Photographer of the Year category (check it out here!). Tim has nominated the Australian Marine Conservation Society as his ocean charity, making every sale of this particular T-shirt a fundraiser for the organisation courtesy of donations made by Ocean Photographer of the Year.

Ocean Photographer of the Year is a celebration of our beautiful blue planet, as well as a platform to highlight the many plights it is facing. This small, bespoke run of T-shirts, selecting just one image from each competition category, represents an opportunity for creative worlds to connect, to bring something new and different to life, to showcase the ocean in a new – and interactive – way. Photographed. Illustrated. Wearable.
Photographer Tim Burgess creates epic aerial ocean imagery. Check out his original photograph that inspired the Surfline T-shirt, here.
The Australian Marine Conservation Society is Tim’s chosen charity. £1 from each unit sale of this particular T-shirt will be donated to AMCS by Ocean Photographer of the Year.
