From above, moored fishing and tourist boats bloom across the sapphire-blue sea like the petals of a flower. Fringed by golden coastal vegetation, the shoreline becomes an abstract pattern that is difficult to recognise from ground level. The blue boat almost disappears into the water, camouflaged against the sea, inviting the viewer to look more closely. The image reveals how an everyday coastal scene can become an unexpected work of natural geometry when seen from above.

Chen Lin is a member of the China Photographers Association and a contracted photographer of VCG 500px, with more than 20 years of dedicated photography experience. His works have been selected for the China Photographic Art Exhibition and the China International Photographic Art Exhibition. He has won top honours including the Gold Award in the Landscape Category at the 3rd China Photography Awards and the Gold Award of the 3rd National Aerial Photography Competition. A number of his photographs have been published in authoritative professional photography journals such as Chinese Photography and Popular Photography. He has been interviewed by media outlets including China Arts News and Guangxi Pictorial.
