A surfer duck-dives his board under a large wave over a shallow reef break. "My aim for this session was to capture photos of surfers inside the barreling part of the wave as they raced past me," explains Barton. "Given the dynamic nature of swimming in the surf, I’m always looking for unique angles and compositions. During this session, a large set wave caught me out of position, forcing me to swim to the reef to avoid getting sucked over with the turbulence. This particular moment gifted me this unique perspective that I feel is both serene and chaotic at the same time."
