A group of swimmers enjoys crystal-clear waters. “Our fascination and connection to the ocean means more and more sports are practised in the water,” says Tommasi. “The turquoise waters of Southwest Australia are the perfect background for swimming and other watersports, providing not only a source of physical exercise but also mental health and connection with nature. Viewed from the air, the swimmers turn into little specks of colour in the immensity of the ocean.”

Daniela Tommasi is a Brazilian–Australian photographer whose work is shaped by a lifelong connection to the ocean and a background in Oceanography. Drawn to the sea long before she picked up a camera, she creates images that reveal its ever-changing character, inviting viewers to experience the natural world with a renewed sense of wonder. "Nothing brings me a greater sense of achievement than capturing and sharing the ocean's extraordinary beauty and raw power through my photography."
