There is an urgent need to implement methods that significantly reduce bycatch,” explains Rodrigues. “For fishing to be sustainable, it is not enough to safeguard the stock of a certain species. It is equally important to think of all those that will be sacrificed in vain. Fortunately, this trapped stingray survived. After a successful rescue carried out by the tuna farm divers, she swam away to give her one more day of hope.”
