Finalist Conservation (Impact) Photographer of the Year
László Földi Hurghada, Egypt
"This image shows snorkelers getting too close to a whale shark," says Földi. "Some even attempted to touch the shark. This can be dangerous for the shark, but also for the people. Luckily, nobody was injured on this occasion. I took this photo to draw attention to the negative aspects of whale shark tourism and to highlight the need for increased regulations around wildlife interactions."

László Földi is an underwater photographer and scuba diving instructor who fell in love with the sea over two decades ago during his first dive. While working as an engineer, he devoted his free time to diving - mostly in the Red Sea - before eventually establishing a family business that gave him more time to pursue his passion. Since 2013, László has never dived without a camera, capturing both wide-angle and macro scenes across more than 2,000 dives. His work highlights the beauty and fragility of marine life, aiming to raise awareness about the human impact on the underwater world.
