"I took this photo at work as I am a photographer on a whale shark swim boat." says Clarke. "The conditions were perfect and this was our first shark of the day. I was the first one in the water and I saw right away that something wasn’t right. The shark was swimming quickly and as soon as it passed me, I could see the fresh propeller strike. I signalled to the skipper that we shouldn’t stay with this animal, took a few photos as it passed to document the injuries, and left it to continue swimming."
